چکیده

RESULTS: In total, 615 cases were detected. The incidence of venous thromboembolism was 1 per 1000 pregnancies. The anteand postnatal incidences were quite similar. Antenatal risk factors were assisted reproduction, gestational diabetes, age older than 35 years, multiple pregnancies, and primi-parity. Postnatal risk factors were cesarean section, preeclampsia, assisted reproduction, abruptio placenta, and placenta previa.

ABO blood groups and risk of venous thromboembolism during pregnancy and the puerperium. A population-based, nested case-control study.

OBJECTIVES To examine possible associations of ABO blood types with the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in pregnancy and the puerperium. PATIENTS AND METHODS We conducted a nested case-control study within a cohort of 71,729 women who gave birth to 126,783 children in the North Jutland County, Denmark, from 1980 to 2001. We identified 129 cases with VTE in pregnancy (n = 61) or the puerp...

Epidemiology of deep venous thrombosis during pregnancy and puerperium in Sudanese women

BACKGROUND Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a major health problem with high mortality worldwide. Patients at risk must be identified and given appropriate prophylaxis in order to decrease the mortality. OBJECTIVE To investigate the prevalence of DVT in pregnancy and the puerperium and to identify risk factors for DVT. SETTING Khartoum and Khartoum North Teac...

HELLP Syndrome and Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis Associated with Factor V Leiden Mutation during Pregnancy

Preeclampsia is a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity worldwide. The neurological complications of preeclampsia and eclampsia are responsible for a major proportion of the morbidity and mortality for women and their infants alike. Hormonal changes during pregnancy and the puerperium carry an increased risk of venous thromboembolism including cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST)...

Favorable outcome under anticoagulant therapy in a high risk pregnancy case report and short review of the (recent) literature.

The incidence of venous thromboembolism is significantly increased during pregnancy, recurrent venous thromboembolism being a serious complication because it is potentially life-threatening. According to recent ACCP guidelines, women with "high-risk" thrombophilias (e.g., homozygosity for factor V Leiden) who had a single prior episode of VTE treated with oral anticoagulants, should receive LMW...

Venous thromboembolism during pregnancy and the postpartum period: incidence, risk factors, and mortality.

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to estimate the incidence, risk factors, and mortality from pregnancy-related venous thromboembolism. STUDY DESIGN The Nationwide Inpatient Sample from the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality for the years 2000 to 2001 was queried for all pregnancy-related discharges with a diagnosis of venous thromb...
